Overview
You will own the development and delivery of IEPs for a caseload of 15-25 students across K-12, ensuring compliance with IDEA and TEA standards. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of BCBAs, speech therapists, and general education teachers to drive academic and behavioral growth. What You'll Do7
- 1Write and execute IEPs for a caseload of 15-25 students, holding annual ARD meetings with parents and district staff.
- 2Adapt TEKS-aligned curriculum into individualized lesson plans, using assistive technology and visual supports to meet student goals.
- 3Track student progress with weekly data collection, updating IEP goal baselines and reporting to families each grading period.
- 4Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to maintain a classroom culture that reduces office referrals by 30%.
- 5Co-teach with general education teachers in inclusion settings, modifying assignments and assessments for diverse learners.
- 6Lead IEP meetings with parents, sharing progress data and adjusting goals based on student response to intervention.
- 7Coordinate with related service providers (speech, OT, counseling) to integrate therapy minutes into daily classroom routines.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited university.
- 2Valid Texas Educator Certificate with Special Education (EC-12) endorsement from TEA.
- 31+ years of experience writing and implementing IEPs, with knowledge of IDEA and ARD processes.
- 4Proven ability to manage classroom behavior using PBIS or similar positive support frameworks.
- 5Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading IEP meetings or parent conferences.
- 6School-based experience is preferred, but strong clinical or student-teaching backgrounds are accepted.
