Overview
You will own a caseload of students with severe developmental delays at Beaumont MS, designing and delivering Special Education instruction tied to IEP goals. You will collaborate daily with general education teachers to ensure inclusive access to core curriculum. This role prioritizes racial equity and requires a TSPC License with a Special Education: Generalist endorsement. You will use data to monitor progress and adjust instruction, with support from Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. What You'll Do10
- 1Build IEP goals and objectives, using data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
- 2Support general education core curriculum with accommodations and modifications for students.
- 3Deliver academic instruction, social skills development, vocational skills, and study skills per IEP.
- 4Use age-appropriate teaching materials, Tier 2 and Tier 3 curriculum and interventions.
- 5Differentiate instruction with modified expectations, content, extended instruction, and behavior strategies.
- 6Consult with special and general education teachers to design individualized programs and intervention curriculum.
- 7Conduct assessments including Woodcock Johnson III.
- 8Manage classroom behavior and maintain safety per school and district policies.
- 9Communicate student progress to caregivers and colleagues regularly.
- 10Participate in department, school, and district meetings to support student needs.

- 1Oregon TSPC License with Handicapped Learner or Special Education: Generalist endorsement.
- 2Background and experience with students with severe developmental delays.
- 3Current pediatric CPR credential or willingness to obtain training immediately.
- 4Knowledge of academic achievement standards aligned to district goals.
- 5Ability to implement Portland Public Schools' Educational Racial Equity policy.
- 6Skill in working with students from diverse backgrounds, including English Language Learners and Talented and Gifted students.
- 7Ability to advocate, model, and implement inclusive practices.
- 8Proper licensing as a Professional Educator - Teacher by TSPC.
