Special Education Office Aide, IEP & Records
Overview
You will own IEP records and clerical support for the Elementary Team Chairs at Weston High School, serving 2000 students across the district. You'll maintain the IEP database, process paperwork, and track deadlines to keep special education compliance on schedule. Working with the METCO program and diverse families, you'll ensure timely communication of IEPs to parents and Team Members. This part-time role (30 hours/week, 181 days) stands out for its focus on accuracy and its direct impact on student success.
What You'll Do8
- 1Maintain the IEP database, ensuring all student records are current and error-free.
- 2Proofread and correct IEP documents before distribution to families and staff.
- 3Process special education paperwork, coordinating and delivering IEPs to parents.
- 4Track deadlines for IEP signature pages, evaluations, and meetings to keep Team Chairs informed.
- 5Provide data for DESE reporting codes related to special education services and placements.
- 6Share student information and data, including evaluation dates and meeting schedules, with Team Members.
- 7Support the Team Chair with clerical tasks, including scheduling and correspondence.
- 8Handle confidential student information with discretion and professionalism.
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years of relevant experience, an Associate Degree, or a combination strongly preferred.
- 2Ability to maintain confidential information in all matters.
- 3Highly organized with skill in managing detailed records and timelines.
- 4Competent with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom.
- 5Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
