Software Engineer II Ad Platform Integrating Engineering
Overview
Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology seeks a Software Engineer II to lead integration engineering at New York. This role drives high quality scalable solutions for ad platforms across global media brands. You will own critical components of our integration ecosystem while collaborating across teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
What You'll Do11
- 1Collaborate with leads to influence software architecture and design aligning with Disney strategy
- 2Design and develop secure performant integration services using Java and modern frameworks
- 3Create reference implementations to mentor junior engineers and ensure code quality
- 4Define engineering best practices and investigate production issues from UI to service layers
- 5Build reference implementations for junior staff onboarding and knowledge transfer
- 6Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed systems
- 7Maintain and improve observability platforms for monitoring and alerting
- 8Drive application architecture improvements and code quality assurance
- 9Translate requirement needs into executable solutions through clean code delivery
- 10Lead multithreaded distributed system design and implementation
- 11Engage with product leaders to understand and implement technical solutions
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 23+ years experience with integration tools and Java Spring Kafka workflow orchestration
- 3Strong background in API development and microservices architecture
- 4Experience with AWS infrastructure and containerization platforms Docker Kubernetes
- 5Proven ability to design scalable distributed systems
- 6Familiarity with observability tools and performance testing methodologies
- 7Passion for Disney’s media ecosystem and storytelling mission
- 8Demonstrated leadership in technical teams or cross functional projects
- 9Commitment to lean principles and continuous improvement practices

$120 - $161k per year
