Overview
Outpost seeks a Software Engineer who will own end-to-end features across the stack while building internal AI tools. This generalist role focuses on agentic systems and AI-assisted workflows. The ideal candidate uses Cursor Copilot Claude or similar LLM utilities to accelerate delivery. We value rapid shipping and deep technical ownership.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and implement backend APIs and frontend UI components
- 2Develop database schemas and maintain PostgreSQL systems
- 3Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- 4Ship agentic workflows integrating LLM APIs and multi-step reasoning
- 5Debug production issues across GCP services and containerized workloads
- 6Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
- 7Improve developer infrastructure and containerization practices
- 8Collaborate with ML teams to integrate RAG and vector search systems
- 9Maintain clear asynchronous communication in English
- 10Scale internal AI tooling to boost team productivity
- 11Ensure all shipped code aligns with project goals and quality standards
Requirements11
- 13–6 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production software
- 2Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and Python
- 3Familiarity with React and Next.js framework
- 4Solid understanding of relational databases and REST/GraphQL design
- 5Practical experience building applications with LLM APIs
- 6Knowledge of Git workflows Docker and containerized environments
- 7Remote async-first work style with US-based team
- 8Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run GCS PubSub BigQuery
- 9Familiarity with RAG systems vector search or embedding pipelines
- 10Background collaborating with ML or data engineering teams
- 11Prior experience working in a remote contract environment
