
Social Services Caseworker – Refugee & Immigrant Programs

What You'll Do11
- 1Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify service gaps and develop individualized case management plans
- 2Facilitate individual and group sessions promoting skill-building cultural orientation and peer connection
- 3Provide referrals and coordinate services with partner agencies schools healthcare systems and government entities
- 4Assist clients with benefit renewal applications housing scheduling and public transportation navigation
- 5Perform home visits to educate clients on service plans and set achievable goals
- 6Advocate for client resource access while maintaining confidentiality and privacy standards
- 7Travel across Allegheny County including Washington County for in-person client interactions
- 8Maintain accurate documentation in electronic and paper systems ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
- 9Support volunteer mentors and interns in delivering integrated care
- 10Participate in outreach initiatives targeting immigrant and underserved populations
- 11Collaborate with staff on program development and organizational training
Requirements11
- 15+ years experience providing services to refugees or immigrants
- 2Strong English proficiency both spoken and written
- 3Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- 4Physical stamina for prolonged desk work and occasional lifting of 15 pounds
- 5Bachelor's degree preferred
- 6Passion for social justice and culturally responsive practice
- 7Experience with data management systems such as Apricot
- 8First-hand immigrant experience considered a plus
- 9Excellent organizational and communication skills
- 10Comfort working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- 11Sensitivity to cultural differences and diverse client backgrounds
