Shipping & Receiving Lead - Warehouse Operations
Overview
Lead daily shipping and receiving for a manufacturing warehouse in Coppell, TX. You will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, verify accuracy, and drive team performance to meet production deadlines. As the Shipping & Receiving Lead, you will operate a Crown sit-down propane forklift and manage a team of warehouse associates. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and works closely with logistics and production teams. You will own inventory accuracy and shipping documentation from day one, with a temp-to-hire path in a stable, hands-on environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations, assigning tasks to warehouse team members.
- 2Load and unload trucks using a Crown sit-down propane forklift to move materials safely.
- 3Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, inspecting for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- 4Prepare shipping paperwork including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and shipping labels.
- 5Stage materials for production and customer orders to maintain workflow.
- 6Maintain accurate inventory transactions and perform cycle counts to ensure system accuracy.
- 7Communicate with production, logistics, carriers, and warehouse staff to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
- 8Train new employees on warehouse procedures and safety standards.
- 9Follow OSHA and company safety policies, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- 10Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or GED required.
- 23+ years of Shipping & Receiving experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- 3Previous lead or team lead experience preferred.
- 4Experience operating a Crown sit-down propane forklift required.
- 5Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and inventory control.
- 6Experience using ERP or WMS systems is a plus.
- 7Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- 8Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently.
- 9Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Salary Insight
