What You'll Do10
- 1Execute daily shift plans, assigning tasks and managing breaks to maintain Wegmans standards of service and cleanliness.
- 2Coach employees in real-time on customer engagement, using Wegmans values to resolve issues on the spot.
- 3Drive sales and shrink targets for your shift, analyzing Wegmans metrics to adjust staffing and inventory.
- 4Conduct pre-shift huddles with focused training on product knowledge and safety protocols.
- 5Resolve customer complaints at the service desk, escalating only when needed to the store manager.
- 6Partner with department leads to coordinate cross-functional coverage during peak hours.
- 7Track and document employee performance, feeding insights into Wegmans performance review cycle.
- 8Identify and implement process improvements to reduce wait times and increase transaction speed.
- 9Run opening or closing procedures, ensuring cash reconciliation and equipment security.
- 10Support new hire onboarding by modeling Wegmans customer service standards.
Requirements8
- 11+ year customer service experience in food service, grocery, or retail setting.
- 218+ years old as required by company policy.
- 3Available to work mornings, afternoons, and evenings including weekends.
- 4Computer skills for using Wegmans scheduling and point-of-sale software.
- 5Preferred: previous experience leading a team or supervising others.
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts.
- 7Completion of Wegmans food safety training within 30 days of hire.
- 8Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
