Overview
As Shift Lead, you will own store operations in the absence of management, managing opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and team coordination at a high-volume Walgreens location. You will lead daily execution of inventory control, merchandising, and customer service, ensuring a seamless experience for customers and patients. This role is the bridge between management and team members, positioning you for career growth in retail leadership. What You'll Do10
- 1Open and close the store without management, completing system startups, cash drops, and floor readiness checks.
- 2Coach team members on customer engagement, resolving issues to ensure a positive experience and modeling service best practices.
- 3Manage cash register transactions, including voids, refunds, price verifications, and price modifications, maintaining accuracy.
- 4Oversee vendor deliveries and the ordering process, verifying shipments and maintaining backdoor security.
- 5Execute merchandising resets, displays, and pricing updates, ensuring compliance with signage and regulatory standards.
- 6Maintain accurate inventory counts across stockroom and sales floor, managing outdates and stock rotation using first-in-first-out methods.
- 7Support bookkeeping duties such as cash reports, counts, and ledgers, ensuring financial integrity.
- 8Enforce company policies including bag checks and regulated product compliance, and report issues to management.
- 9Perform exterior and interior maintenance checks, requesting repairs as needed and keeping the store orderly.
- 10Assist at the pharmacy out window and complete special assignments as directed.
Requirements5
- 11+ year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience.
- 2Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- 3Preferred: knowledge of store inventory control.
- 4Obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
- 5Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
