Overview
You own the bar at Hotel Indigo in Pittsburgh. You mix and serve drinks for guests and dining room staff, and you keep the bar stocked and clean. You work with a front-of-house team under the Food and Beverage Director. Your focus is fast, accurate service and a respectful guest experience, backed by Alcohol Awareness training.
What You'll Do8
- 1Mix and serve drinks to order, using proper portions and ingredients for guests, cocktail waitresses, and dining room staff.
- 2Operate the cash register, make change, distribute checks, and keep accurate records of all transactions.
- 3Requisition supplies, fruits, and beverages to keep the bar stocked, including moving cases of beer and alcohol up to 30 lbs.
- 4Train new servers on Alcohol Awareness procedures and ensure all staff complete the program.
- 5Maintain cleanliness behind the bar, in storage, and on all equipment.
- 6Control liquor costs by tracking usage and minimizing waste with every pour.
- 7Greet guests courteously and professionally, resolving any issues with a calm demeanor.
- 8Support the team with other tasks assigned by management as needed.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Bartending certification from an accredited program or 1+ years of bartending experience.
- 321+ years old, or 18+ where state law permits, and comply with ABC regulations.
- 4Valid health card where required.
- 5Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long shifts.
- 6Proven skills in mixing drinks, handling cash, and completing orders.
- 7Effective communication with guests and team members.
- 8Reliable transportation to and from Pittsburgh, PA.
