You will own the design and optimization of SQL Server databases for a top-tier financial firm in NYC or Dallas. You will build and tune high-performance T-SQL queries that process complex financial valuations and capital markets data. You will partner with trading and analytics teams to ensure data flows seamlessly across the firm. - 5Drive data quality checks and automated validation for ETL pipelines feeding analytics.
- 6Build data transformations to reconcile positions and valuations across multiple systems.
- 7Own migrations of legacy database objects to modern Azure SQL environments.
- 8Drive performance tuning initiatives using Execution Plans and Profiler to pinpoint bottlenecks.
- 9Lead code reviews for junior developers and set standards for T-SQL and schema design.
- 10Document and communicate technical solutions to trading and operations teams.
Requirements9
- 15+ years developing on Microsoft SQL Server in a financial services setting.
- 23+ years of advanced T-SQL including complex joins, dynamic SQL, and performance tuning.
- 32+ years handling financial valuations or capital markets data (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
- 4Hands-on experience with Index Tuning, Query Hints, and Lock Escalation.
- 5Proficiency in SSIS and SSRS for ETL and reporting.
- 6Strong understanding of Data Modeling and normalized database design.
- 7Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex SQL and database issues in production.
- 8Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- 9Local to Dallas or NYC and unable to relocate (required).
