What You'll Do10
- 1Administer Special Needs Trusts for beneficiaries with varying degrees of disability, ensuring distributions align with trust provisions and client needs.
- 2Collaborate with attorneys, caseworkers, and trust partners to interpret and execute trust agreements while maintaining compliance with SSI and Medicaid regulations.
- 3Partner with families and field trust officers to assess beneficiary needs and authorize appropriate distributions from trusts.
- 4Prevent beneficiary disqualification from means-tested government programs by adhering to Social Security and Medicaid guidelines in every trust decision.
- 5Identify risk issues on trust accounts and drive resolution with internal and external stakeholders, including tax professionals and social workers.
- 6Engage clients, advisors, and internal partners to deliver a high-touch client experience within a robust risk management framework.
- 7Resolve moderately complex trust administration issues, covering distributions, account maintenance, KYC, and annual reviews.
- 8Mentor junior staff and serve as a subject-matter expert on fiduciary administration for complex accounts.
- 9Support marketing and business development initiatives alongside team leaders to grow the special needs trust portfolio.
- 10Own the end-to-end administration of a portfolio of trusts, ensuring every action prioritizes beneficiary well-being and legal compliance.
Requirements10
- 14+ years of Fiduciary Products experience, or equivalent work, training, military, or education.
- 2J.D. or CTFA certification preferred, with a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 3Experience administering Special Needs Trusts directly.
- 4Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security benefit programs.
- 5Proven ability to interpret and apply trust agreements and legal documents.
- 6Strong organizational skills, managing time and priorities across multiple cases.
- 7Effective collaboration with team members, client advisors, and all levels of management.
- 8Solutions-oriented mindset with conflict resolution and presentation skills.
- 9Intermediate Microsoft Office skills for reporting and analysis.
