What You'll Do12
- 1Architect and develop the software platform connecting illumination hardware firmware cloud infrastructure internal tooling and future customer systems
- 2Define software interfaces communication layers and subsystem boundaries across distributed control systems
- 3Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to design robust hardware/software interactions
- 4Establish scalable software infrastructure and engineering practices suitable for long-term productization
- 5Help define technical scopes interfaces and development strategy for external partners
- 6Contribute hands-on across the stack while shaping longer-term software technical direction
- 7Balance rapid prototyping with long-term architectural scalability
- 8Decompose complex systems into modular maintainable subsystems
- 9Ensure reliability maintainability and operational robustness in mission-critical systems
- 10Design software for reliability maintainability and operational robustness in industrial IoT contexts
- 11Set up and own development environments including CI integration and testing
- 12Interface software with hardware systems using serial TCP/IP protocols and debug cross-boundary issues
Requirements16
- 1MS with 5+ years or BS with 7+ years professional software development experience
- 2Degree in Software Engineering Computer Science or related field preferred
- 3Strong systems-level thinking ability to reason across software firmware hardware and operations
- 4Fluent in Python and proficient in another general-purpose language such as TypeScript Go or Rust
- 5Experience defining requirements designing implementing and deploying software
- 6Expertise in deploying cloud-connected applications and maintaining SQL databases
- 7Proven track record working with end users to improve software usability and workflows
- 8Experience with Linux environments and debugging software/hardware interactions
- 9Familiarity with Industrial IoT stacks including MQTT Sparkplug B OPC UA and Unified Namespace patterns
- 10Knowledge of electronic records audit trails and data integrity principles for regulated settings
- 11Background in biotech pharmaceutical industries with 21 CFR Part 11 GAMP 5 or ALCOA+ experience
- 12Experience modernizing operational tooling such as Airtable-based workflows
- 13Skill in building custom dashboards and data visualizers
- 14Expertise in DevOps development workflows and toolchain selection
- 15Embedded C/C++ development or understanding firmware limitations
- 16Familiarity with Ignition AirTable or Particle Cloud systems
