Overview
Design and lead satellite flight software for a 5,408-vehicle constellation delivering symmetrical data speeds up to 6 Tbps. What You'll Do10
- 1Architect, design, develop, and integrate core flight software for a next-generation satellite platform
- 2Define scalable reusable and platform-independent flight software frameworks services and design patterns for multiple spacecraft configurations
- 3Establish software architecture standards coding guidelines design patterns and review practices for maintainability reliability and mission readiness
- 4Partner with systems avionics GNC communications power propulsion thermal payload and autonomy teams to translate requirements into robust software implementations
- 5Conduct design code and technical trade studies addressing performance fault tolerance redundancy scalability and portability
- 6Support integration verification and validation in SIL HIL and other mission representative test environments
- 7Develop and improve software engineering infrastructure including build systems CI/CD pipelines automated test frameworks and debugging tools
- 8Contribute to technical documentation covering software architecture interface control documents verification plans and test procedures
- 9Design and implement secure OTA software update capabilities for spacecraft including validation authenticated delivery rollback version control and safe deployment
- 10Incorporate cybersecurity principles such as secure communications access control interface hardening and resilient software design
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Aerospace Engineering or related field with 10+ years embedded software experience for spacecraft or mission critical real time systems
- 2Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python with extensive experience in RTOS-based embedded development using Embedded Linux VxWorks or QNX
- 3Proven track record architecting and implementing complex flight software or mission critical embedded systems
- 4Familiarity with communication protocols TCP/IP UDP CAN I2C SPI and RS-422/485 and software lifecycle configuration management CI/CD and verification validation practices
- 5Experience with secure software development and cybersecurity best practices for embedded or mission critical systems
