Overview

Leading analysts will transform Medicaid data into actionable policy insights at scale within AHCCCS. You will partner with executive leadership to influence program direction and cost containment for Arizona’s 2+ million Medicaid members. The role blends advanced analytics, data storytelling, and strategic advisory to improve health outcomes and reduce costs. This position supports organizational initiatives through predictive analysis, dashboards, and executive-ready presentations.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards that inform executive decision making
  • 2Design analyses across claims, encounters, utilization, and financial data to identify cost drivers and quality opportunities
  • 3Present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders with clear recommendations and implications
  • 4Develop data visualizations and executive summaries that translate complex analytics for technical and non technical audiences
  • 5Partner with program teams, finance, and operations to clarify business needs and deliver meaningful solutions
  • 6Monitor costs and utilization trends to ensure timely, accurate reporting for internal customers
  • 7Support long term planning with predictive analytics and scenario forecasting
  • 8Translate analytical findings into actionable business insights to influence policy and operational strategy
  • 9Maintain data governance standards and improve data quality across healthcare datasets
  • 10Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices across the analytics team

Requirements5

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or healthcare related discipline and/or 10 years of experience in business analysis, healthcare analytics, medical economics, data analysis or closely related field
  • 2Experience querying, summarizing, and manipulating data using SQL, SAS, Python, R, Cognos, PowerBI, or similar technologies
  • 3Experience working with healthcare data including medical claims, Medicaid, Medicare datasets
  • 4Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings in a clear and actionable way
  • 5Pre employment fingerprint background checks and ability to travel as required
