
Senior Managing Landscape Architect Position in California
Overview
Anchor QEA seeks a Senior Managing Landscape Architect to lead and grow its landscape architecture practice across California. This senior leadership role focuses on restoration resilience and development while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will drive business growth and mentor staff to enhance ecological outcomes and client relationships.
What You'll Do11
- 1Drive practice area growth by supporting strategic direction and market expansion
- 2Act as senior client-facing leader for landscape architecture and multidisciplinary projects
- 3Mentor junior and mid-level staff and forecast future staffing needs
- 4Collaborate with leadership on market strategy business planning and staffing initiatives
- 5Identify and pursue competitive landscape architecture opportunities
- 6Develop client engagement strategies and lead proposal creation and negotiations
- 7Build relationships with public agencies port municipalities and consulting partners
- 8Represent Anchor QEA externally with stakeholders and community groups
- 9Serve as project director or manager overseeing multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
- 10Provide senior design leadership guiding design strategy through all project phases
- 11Prepare high-quality plans graphics reports and coordinate construction administration
Requirements11
- 1Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution
- 2California licensed landscape architect with 15+ years of relevant experience
- 3Proven success in business development and winning multidisciplinary projects
- 4Strong understanding of California markets including waterfront coastal and resilience projects
- 5Leadership experience in senior roles such as principal-in-charge or project director
- 6Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with engineers planners and scientists
- 7Technical expertise in coastal freshwater estuarine wetland and shoreline systems
- 8Familiarity with AutoCAD ArcGIS Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- 9Entrepreneurial mindset focused on growing practice areas within a multidisciplinary firm
- 10Experience with federal state and local environmental regulations and permitting processes
