Overview

You will own nutrition and food initiatives for 500+ children and families at Clayton Early Learning, a nonprofit on a 20-acre Denver campus. You will oversee the Clayton Cares Market, procurement, budgeting, and grant management across the Seed to Stomach program. Partner with internal teams and external agencies to deliver evidence-based services. This role drives strategic vision and operational excellence, shaping food security and whole-family support.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Set the strategic vision for food and nutrition initiatives, driving the partnership plan to meet Clayton's goals.
  • 2Lead campus planning to coordinate services that help children and families thrive.
  • 3Manage the Clayton Cares Market: purchasing, inventory, procurement, and food safety compliance.
  • 4Oversee grant invoicing and reporting, tracking procurement and spending weekly.
  • 5Build relationships with families, partners, and government entities to expand program impact.
  • 6Monitor service goals and track progress toward federal, program, and organizational objectives.
  • 7Develop and implement team policies, quality assurance processes, and guidelines.
  • 8Lead and develop your team, providing regular feedback and performance plans.
  • 9Represent the program in the community to enhance collaboration and brand reputation.

Requirements12

  • 1Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field.
  • 21-2 years of leadership experience in food programs or social services.
  • 3Use data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
  • 4Excellent verbal and written communication adjusting to diverse audiences.
  • 5Build credible relationships and lead a team effectively.
  • 6Project management skills with strategic design and implementation.
  • 7Relate to others from varied backgrounds with strong interpersonal skills.
  • 8Solve problems creatively while staying calm under stress.
  • 9Intermediate math and analytical skills for assessment and evaluation.
  • 10Proficient in Microsoft Office; adaptable to new software.
  • 11Pass comprehensive background checks: CBI/FBI fingerprinting, physical, and national sex offender registry.
  • 12Bilingual preferred.
