Lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end to drive scalable learning inference and monitoring for News ML platform. Shape technical direction and align solutions with stakeholder needs. Foster ownership and collaboration across product data and engineering teams.
What You'll Do8
- 1Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end from technical design through production deployment and operational excellence
- 2Design and develop infrastructure supporting full ML lifecycle including data pipelines and workflow orchestration
- 3Drive data and ML-driven solutions for recommendation systems object detection and RAG
- 4Partner with product editorial and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
- 5Strategically prioritize initiatives to deliver high-impact outcomes while mitigating risks
- 6Champion engineering best practices across code quality testing CI/CD observability and incident response
- 7Mentor and coach engineers fostering culture of ownership collaboration and continuous improvement
- 8Contribute to technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing across teams
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems Statistics Math or equivalent work experience
- 25+ years of experience building and operating ML engineering systems in production environments
- 3Expertise in data science deep learning algorithms or statistical methods to solve real-world engineering problems
- 4Comfortable operating at all levels of predictive stack including data collection analysis feature engineering batch training and low-latency online serving
- 5Experience designing and developing backend microservices for large-scale distributed systems using REST
- 6Familiarity with cloud infrastructure preferring AWS including Step Functions Lambda Glue SQS SNS Personalize
- 7Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Databricks Kinesis Kafka
- 8Proven leadership coaching and mentoring skills with ability to inspire and empower teams
- 9Experience with observability tools for metrics logging and monitoring such as Datadog
- 10Working in Agile Scrum development environments with excellent communication skills
