Overview
You will own the architecture and delivery of enterprise-grade applications built on Java, Python, and modern frameworks, serving thousands of users on AWS. You will drive cloud-native design from inception to production, collaborating with a team of engineers and DevOps specialists to ensure security, scalability, and performance. This hybrid role offers a balance of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, with a focus on automating operations and strengthening identity management. You will shape the technical roadmap and build solutions that directly impact business outcomes.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java and Python, setting technical direction and coding standards.
- 2Architect cloud-native solutions on AWS, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
- 3Automate deployment and operational workflows by building Shell scripts and integrating CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
- 4Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) and API security using ForgeRock and other tools, ensuring robust authentication and authorization.
- 5Drive performance tuning and scalability improvements across microservices and databases.
- 6Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
- 7Mentor junior developers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming.
- 8Deliver a major feature or service within your first 90 days, from design to production release.
Requirements8
- 15+ years building enterprise applications with Java and Spring Boot.
- 23+ years designing and deploying services on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
- 3Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- 4Hands-on experience with Shell scripting and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- 5Experience implementing IAM and API security using ForgeRock or similar identity management platforms.
- 6Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including encryption, key management, and network security.
- 7Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- 8Ability to work on-site 3 days per week in Boston, MA.
