What You'll Do8
- 1Design RPGLE and Free RPG applications with embedded SQL for enterprise business functions.
- 2Gather requirements from business users and prototype technical solutions in IBM i environments.
- 3Build and integrate REST APIs and web services to extend IBM i capabilities.
- 4Apply AI-assisted tools like Cursor AI and Claude to accelerate testing and documentation.
- 5Refactor legacy RPG code into modern SQL-centric implementations for maintainability.
- 6Lead code reviews and enforce development standards across the team.
- 7Perform integration testing and quality assurance before production releases.
- 8Implement Python scripts and React components to complement IBM i backend processes.
Requirements8
- 15+ years developing with RPGLE and Free RPG on IBM i.
- 23+ years with embedded SQL and relational database design on DB2 for i.
- 3Strong experience with web services and API development using IBM i technologies.
- 4Proven ability with SDLC and Agile methodologies in enterprise settings.
- 5Hands-on experience with Python and Django for modern application layers.
- 6Experience with JavaScript and React (preferred over Angular) for UI work.
- 7Familiarity with Docker and cloud-based deployment on platforms like AWS.
- 8Knowledge of AI coding tools: Cursor AI, Claude, and Claude Code CLI.
