The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports the implementation of HR services, programs, and initiatives within assigned business units, including employee and labor relations, performance management, leader development, engagement, compensation, benefits, wellness, talent acquisition, and workforce planning. Responsible for providing support to leaders and team members, this role includes administering employment policies, researching and investigating concerns, and making recommendations that promote positive team member relations. This includes conducting workplace investigations and counseling management on federal, state, and local laws to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. The Sr HR Generalist recommends effective solutions for addressing workplace issues and corrective actions, delivering service in a professional and efficient manner to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and an overall positive team member experience.
What You'll Do11
- 1Supports the implementation of all HR programs and initiatives within assigned business units, including employee and labor relations, organization development, talent management, performance management, leader development, engagement, benefits, wellness, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and compensation
- 2Develops and implements local strategic HR initiatives that enable business outcomes
- 3Consults, coaches, and counsels frontline leadership in the day-to-day management of team member and labor relations issues
- 4Supports and coaches team members on performance and conduct issues
- 5Creates and manages positive team member relations programs in collaboration with key stakeholders to keep a pulse on team member engagement and identify opportunities to continuously improve the work environment
- 6Leads internal workplace investigations and the complaint/grievance process for assigned business units
- 7Ensures compliance with HR policies and regulatory requirements for assigned business units
- 8Participates in Labor Relations activities where applicable, including labor management meetings, grievances, and training
- 9Manages local onboarding and facility orientation programs
- 10Coordinates team member leave of absence/return to work at the facility level
- 11Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor`s degree in a related area or equivalent years of related HR experience
- 2Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience inclusive of a minimum of 3 years of experience in employee relations and conducting complex investigations
- 3Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing employment
- 4Effective leadership, team building, and change management skills
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills
