Senior Data Engineer, GCP Solutions & E-Commerce
Overview
Own the design and implementation of cloud data architectures for a portfolio of 30+ e-commerce brands. Build scalable GCP solutions that drive growth across Pet Care, Personal Care, and more. Report to the engineering lead and collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders. This role stands out for its blend of hands-on engineering and strategic solution design.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design end-to-end GCP architectures covering data, applications, infrastructure, and security.
- 2Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, DBT, and Python.
- 3Optimize BigQuery warehousing: schema design, query tuning, and cost management.
- 4Implement data quality and governance standards for accuracy, consistency, and lineage tracking.
- 5Drive performance and cost-efficiency of cloud solutions, monitoring and tuning as needed.
- 6Apply e-commerce and retail domain expertise to solve supply chain and operational challenges.
- 7Maintain security and compliance in all solutions, aligned with privacy laws and best practices.
- 8Mentor engineers, sharing best practices and fostering technical excellence.
- 9Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure solution success.
- 10Produce design documents, architecture diagrams, and best-practice guides.
Requirements7
- 18+ years in IT, with 3+ years in cloud architecture or GCP solutions.
- 2Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
- 3Strong knowledge of data architecture, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing with BigQuery.
- 4Solid coding skills in SQL, Python (preferred), Java, or Scala.
- 5Familiarity with Airflow, DBT, and version control (e.g., Git).
- 6Industry experience in e-commerce, retail, or CPG.
- 7Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
