Overview

As a Senior Associate on the Morgan Health team at JPMorgan Chase, you will own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle for employer-sponsored health care data, from querying and cleaning to synthesizing insights that shape industry strategy. You will work across investments, benefits, and policy teams to design novel methodologies and data products that drive decisions at scale. With 4+ years of applied analytics experience, you will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business leaders to solve complex problems using SQL, Python, and R.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Translate business needs into data-driven analytics projects, implementing scalable and automated processes using Python and SQL.
  • 2Clean, join, and analyze large health-related datasets, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, and biometrics, while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • 3Identify and evaluate data sources, understanding their limitations and proactively resolving quality issues.
  • 4Build well-documented, efficient code and data transformations, contributing to shared data architecture with other engineers.
  • 5Propose and implement novel research methodologies to answer questions relevant to employer-sponsored insurance.
  • 6Author externally-facing research briefs and papers that highlight insights for employers and the health care industry.
  • 7Validate analysis findings to ensure data quality and integrity, applying rigorous review processes.
  • 8Manage stakeholder relationships and balance multiple projects in a matrixed environment, communicating insights to non-technical audiences.

Requirements10

  • 14+ years of hands-on analytics experience, including relational databases, data wrangling, and analytical tools (SQL, Python, R).
  • 2Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, engineering, math, analytics, computer science, public health, operations research, or economics.
  • 3Understanding of applied statistics, including controlled regressions and propensity-score matching.
  • 4Proven ability to multitask effectively and deliver results with limited supervision.
  • 5Experience creating analytics presentations with strong attention to detail.
  • 6Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when delivering analytical results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • 7Team-oriented attitude and proven collaborator.
  • 8Preferably experience in health care, ideally in a payer or provider setting.
  • 9Preferably experience with medical and pharmaceutical claims data, including standard groupers, common data transformations, and population health metrics.
  • 10Preferably experience with machine learning techniques including clustering, decision trees, and predictive modeling.
