What You'll Do25
- 1Patrol and monitor campus surrounding areas bus stops parks public unsupervised places ensure safety well being of students staff facility security
- 2Intervene in situations likely to result in disruption or injury direct students to refrain from such conduct
- 3Follow protocols and directions to ensure smooth traffic flow of students through hallways assisting students with ontime arrival to class and assigned locations
- 4Assist with supervision during breakfast lunch periods and morning arrival afternoon dismissal remove disruptive students from classes when needed
- 5Provide assistance with investigations of student or staff incidents support administration staff police emergency personnel handling emergencies or disruptive situations
- 6Monitor exits and entrances throughout the day as directed
- 7Assist visitors with directions and securing proper identification intercept unauthorized visitors escort them to exits
- 8Report discipline infractions unauthorized visitors acts of vandalism to building administration or designees notify authorities of emergency potentially dangerous situations
- 9Participate in home visits when requested report fire and safety hazards to facilities manager respond to alarms
- 10Prevent illegal parking tampering with vehicles loitering in parking lots according to procedures assist with traffic crowd control at special events
- 11Attend assigned special events fulfill professional obligations as directed by administration or designee
- 12Perform other duties within scope of employment not otherwise prohibited
- 13Support mission vision and goals of school by demonstrating ethics compassion diligence improve practice
- 14Promote student responsibility for behavior and attitude serve as role model model appropriate language interactions response to conflicts
- 15Participate in appropriate in-service training and workshop programs
- 16Protect confidentiality of records and information about students staff using discretion when sharing within legal confines
- 17Participate in safety drills as directed
- 18Follow all timekeeping and PTO protocols maintain strong attendance
- 19Check and respond to electronic communications in a timely manner
- 20Know follow implement school rules and procedures support student code of conduct communicate clearly professionally with staff students families stakeholders
- 21Communicate concerns to administration regarding safety procedures

Requirements11
- 1High school diploma or GED required
- 2Minimum 1-2 years experience as security officer school security officer campus supervisor or other position involving safeguarding community or youth required
- 3Ability to use and troubleshoot technological equipment camera system laptops desktop computers social media platforms required
- 4Ability to operate functionally in digital environment for communication purposes i.e. email
- 5Physical demands occasional lifting carrying pushing or pulling some kneeling crouching significant finger dexterity
- 6Generally 10% sitting 40% standing 50% standing
- 7Performed in clean climate controlled environment
