Seasonal Wildlife Care Technician Saratoga
Overview
The Senior Wildlife Care Technician will lead all aspects of wildlife rehabilitation at the Saratoga center. This full-time position requires managing animal care and facility operations. You will ensure optimal health for rescued animals while supporting team development.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide humane care for all wild animals in care
- 2Clean and disinfect animal areas to maintain sanitation
- 3Prepare diets and ensure proper hydration for wildlife
- 4Unload store and restock supplies for the Wildlife Care Center
- 5Assist with enrichment activities for patient animals
- 6Perform light maintenance and janitorial duties
- 7Train new staff and volunteers effectively
- 8Help other departments to improve public image and operational efficiency
- 9Dispose of deceased animals according to protocols
- 10Support animal releases when ready
- 11Maintain department equipment and report repairs
Requirements10
- 1Demonstrate ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily
- 2Pass a background check upon hire
- 3Possess flexibility for weekend and holiday schedules
- 4Hold a high school diploma or GED
- 5Have 5+ years experience with wildlife rehabilitation systems
- 6Show proficiency with RaptorMed database or Microsoft Office
- 7Maintain valid California driver's license
- 8Understand safety procedures for zoonotic diseases
- 9Be comfortable handling animals weighing up to 75 pounds
- 10Communicate clearly with the public volunteers and staff
