Overview
Own the test strategy and automation architecture for a smart meter testing organization at scale. You will lead a team of SDETs and drive the design of Python-based test frameworks for firmware and software validation. Working with cross-functional teams, you will shape the technical direction for test automation, environment design, and advanced test execution. What You'll Do10
- 1Design the automation test architecture for smart meter firmware and software using Python and pytest.
- 2Lead the development of test frameworks and scripts, ensuring robust execution across multiple environments.
- 3Drive technical analysis of market test frameworks to select and integrate best-fit solutions.
- 4Coach and mentor SDETs on test automation best practices, including Selenium and Appium for UI and mobile testing.
- 5Collaborate with development and QA teams to define test strategy and automation coverage for new features.
- 6Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated tests using Jenkins and Docker.
- 7Evaluate and optimize test execution performance, reducing regression cycles from days to hours.
- 8Define environment requirements and manage test data for end-to-end validation scenarios.
- 9Own the defect triage process, ensuring critical issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- 10Ship high-quality test automation deliverables within the first 90 days, demonstrating measurable coverage gains.
Requirements8
- 18+ years of experience in software testing, with 3+ years leading test automation teams.
- 25+ years hands-on experience designing test automation frameworks using Python or Java.
- 3Deep understanding of smart meter test methodologies, including DLMS/COSEM protocol testing.
- 4Proficiency with test automation tools: Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG.
- 5Experience with Jenkins, Git, and Docker for CI/CD and containerized test execution.
- 6Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across firmware, software, and network layers.
- 7Excellent communication skills to lead technical discussions with engineering and product teams.
- 8Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
