What You'll Do7

  • 1Diagnose and support students with mental health and behavioral needs using evidence-based assessments and DSM-5 criteria.
  • 2Provide individual and small group counseling sessions to students, targeting social-emotional growth and crisis intervention.
  • 3Communicate with teachers and parents to develop support strategies, including IEP goals and behavioral plans.
  • 4Collaborate with administrators to assess the effectiveness of mental health interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
  • 5Conduct evaluations for special education eligibility, including cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments.
  • 6Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • 7Perform other related duties as assigned, such as leading staff training on mental health topics.

Requirements5

  • 1Master's degree from a NASP-accredited program.
  • 2Active state-level licensure and/or certification in Arizona (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • 32+ years of experience working in schools or with children is required.
  • 4Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to manage caseloads and collaborate.
  • 5Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and administrators in a school setting.
