School Psychologist, K-12 Counseling & Assessment
Overview
You will own counseling and assessment for K-12 students in a Hayward, CA district, supporting 500+ students across multiple school sites. You will join a team of 5 school psychologists and report to the Director of Special Education. This contract role focuses on both direct student support and comprehensive evaluations for IEP eligibility.
What You'll Do6
- 1Deliver direct counseling services to students, targeting social, emotional, and behavioral growth in the first 90 days.
- 2Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine special education eligibility and inform IEP development.
- 3Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement IEPs.
- 4Lead crisis intervention and prevention programs, providing immediate support for students in distress.
- 5Maintain accurate records and documentation per district and legal standards.
- 6Participate in IEP meetings and professional development sessions throughout the school year.
Requirements6
- 1Hold a valid School Psychologist credential or certification.
- 2Bring 2+ years of school-based experience in counseling and assessment.
- 3Deliver assessments using WISC-V, BASC-3, and Woodcock-Johnson.
- 4Communicate clearly with educators, families, and support staff.
- 5Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams to design IEPs.
- 6Commit to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
