School Psychologist
Overview
Boston Public Schools seeks a School Psychologist to provide psychological services to students ages preschool through 22 years old who attend public private and parochial schools in Boston. This position involves delivering diagnostic prescriptive and remedial services through individual group consultations and collaboration with educators. The ideal candidate will lead interventions and contribute to crisis response efforts.
What You'll Do8
- 1Provide psychological and educational evaluations promptly for Boston students across diverse settings
- 2Participate actively in Individualized Educational Planning Meetings to develop comprehensive educational plans
- 3Offer consultation to teachers and professionals to support student potential within least restrictive environments
- 4Conduct classroom screenings to inform effective educational strategies
- 5Provide prevention and counseling services both individually and in small groups
- 6Deliver targeted interventions and serve on the AAF Service Team
- 7Collaborate with the Office of Special Education and Student Services and all school staff
- 8Perform additional duties as directed by the Assistant Director of Psychological Services
Requirements6
- 1Licensed School Psychologist credential from Massachusetts Department of Education
- 2Proven ability to write comprehensive reports using standardized instruments
- 3Experience writing reports in English with attention to educational goals
- 4Background in urban educational and psychological service delivery
- 5Fluency in one of BPS official languages including Spanish Creole Haitian Creole Chinese Vietnamese Portuguese or Somali
- 6Preferred certification in Moderate Disabilities or English as a Second Language at relevant grade levels
