Robot Operations Manager, Robotics & Field Logistics
Overview
This role owns the end-to-end fleet operations for Gecko Robotics robots across multiple sites including the US and UAE. You will drive fleet build events, maintenance, upgrades, and logistics to scale operational capacity and reliability for critical infrastructure tasks. You will partner with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure robust processes and rapid issue resolution. This role combines hands-on robotics operations with cross-functional program leadership to deliver production-ready fleets.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build events that increase fleet capacity by coordinating engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver on time and within budget
- 2Design and maintain standardized build procedures and checklists for repeatable assembly operations
- 3Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize fleet availability
- 4Plan firmware, hardware, and software upgrades across units and coordinate with field operations
- 5Develop and operate repair depot capabilities including staffing, tooling, and spare parts provisioning
- 6Manage fleet change order processes and enforce configuration management across hardware and firmware versions
- 7Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics across multiple facilities including customs and trade compliance
- 8Support prototype to production transitions with documented processes and quality standards
- 9Oversee testing, acceptance, and release of prototype and first-production fleet units
- 10Improve operational performance by driving cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements10
- 15+ years of experience in robotics, electromechanical systems, or advanced manufacturing operations
- 2Experience managing hardware build events or production operations
- 3Proven track record in fleet maintenance program development and execution
- 4Experience with inventory management systems and materials planning processes
- 5Strong understanding of logistics operations including international shipping, customs, and trade compliance
- 6Experience managing multi-site operations across geographically distributed teams
- 7Excellent verbal and written communication skills to condense complex messages
- 8In-factory manufacturing experience
- 9Proficiency with Salesforce or equivalent asset or configuration management platforms
- 10Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Google Docs, and Excel
