Overview

Diagnose and repair diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, and specialty lines equipment across job sites in San Francisco. Own uptime for a fleet of aerial work platforms, generators, pumps, and HVAC systems. Work with a team of mechanics and report to a service manager. What You'll Do9

  • 1Diagnose faults in hydraulic systems and electrical systems to identify root causes on equipment like scissor lifts and boom lifts.
  • 2Perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines and gasoline engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • 3Repair or replace defective parts on pumps, generators, and HVAC units to meet safety standards.
  • 4Use diagnostic tools and laptop software to run system tests and calibrate components.
  • 5Document work orders and parts usage in the service management system.
  • 6Coordinate with the dispatcher to prioritize urgent breakdowns at customer sites.
  • 7Maintain a clean and organized service truck, ensuring all tools are secured and inventory is stocked.
  • 8Follow OSHA and Sunbelt safety protocols when working on equipment and operating vehicles.
  • 9Train apprentice mechanics on repair techniques and safety procedures.

Requirements8

  • 13-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, oil/gas).
  • 2High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
  • 3Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; CDL may be required in some locations.
  • 4Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • 5Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • 6Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in varying weather conditions.
  • 7May need to provide mechanic's tools of trade.
  • 8Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
