Overview
You will own nursing care for pulmonary patients in an outpatient setting at West Penn Hospital, delivering patient-centered care across the full spectrum of assessment, planning, and evaluation. You will work with LPNs and support staff, coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team including physicians and specialists. What You'll Do8
- 1Assess patient health status and implement a plan of care using the nursing process, adjusting for individual patient needs and physician orders.

- 5Advocate for patients and families by addressing concerns and ensuring compassionate, patient-centered communication.
- 6Document changes in patient condition and notify physicians or supervisors, intervening as needed.
- 7Support team development by providing feedback, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
- 8Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain clinical expertise and certification.
Requirements10
- 1Current PA RN license or multi-state license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- 2CPR certification.
- 3Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
- 4Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
- 5Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
- 6Certification in area of specialty preferred.
- 7Experience in outpatient or pulmonary nursing preferred.
- 8Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for pulmonary care.
- 9Ability to work in a hybrid model, balancing on-site patient care with remote documentation.
- 10Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
