Retail Engagement Specialist, Field Marketing & Merchandising
Overview
Retail Engagement Specialist owns merchant relationships across a Baltimore territory, driving program visibility and business growth. This field-based role covers 22-35 retail visits daily, combining in-store engagement, driving, and administrative follow-up. You'll serve as the face of the brand, educating merchants on financial services and ensuring strong customer experience. Backed by leadership and training teams, you'll operate independently with support from a company-provided mobile device and materials.
What You'll Do10
- 1Visit retail locations in your territory and engage merchants with a relationship-focused approach
- 2Introduce and educate new merchants on the client's financial services and program benefits
- 3Provide on-site support, answer questions, and address concerns to build merchant confidence
- 4Place and maintain point-of-sale materials and branding in-store
- 5Document visits and track activity using mobile tools and reporting systems
- 6Work closely with leadership to meet territory goals and coverage expectations
- 7Drive merchant awareness and advocate client products at the retailer
- 8Audit and record competitive products, promotions, and merchant feedback
- 9Travel to major markets and events for iconic product launches
- 10Submit feedback reports in a timely manner and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements8
- 16+ months prior sales, promotion, retail, or marketing experience
- 2High school diploma or equivalent
- 3Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and successful MVR screening
- 4Personal vehicle for daily travel within the territory
- 5Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- 6Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
- 7Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team environment
- 8Reliable transportation and ability to maintain customer confidentiality
