Respiratory Therapist Full-Time Night Center City
Overview
Registered Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory therapy procedures to examine diagnose and treat patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes and ensuring compliance with quality standards at Jefferson Health.
What You'll Do8
- 1Interact with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with Jefferson values
- 2Administer physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen respiratory medication PFTs ABGs and mechanical ventilation
- 3Perform evaluation procedures invasive and non-invasive to determine respiratory care needs and make recommendations based on department protocols
- 4Monitor mechanical ventilated patients through clinical assessment routine rounds troubleshooting weaning airway care and diagnostic testing
- 5Collect and analyze sputum blood and breath specimens for diagnosis measure lung capacity to identify impairments
- 6Offer diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on patient analysis
- 7Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services
- 8Assure smooth operation of the PFT and ABG laboratory or other duties as assigned
Requirements5
- 1Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care
- 2Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
- 3Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support/BLS
- 4Associates degree or higher Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care within two years of hire
- 5ACLS and/or NALS certification preferred
