Research Administrator, Oncology Grants Management
Overview
You will own the full research portfolio for one or more laboratories in Medical Oncology, managing federal, industry, and foundation funds from pre-award through closeout. You will prepare grants, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional policies. You will collaborate with faculty and central offices like Grants and Contracts and Research Finance. This role offers a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days onsite in Boston and a chance to support groundbreaking cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
What You'll Do10
- 1Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant applications, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines and Institute standards
- 2Oversee the entire proposal submission process, including administrative pages, narratives, and appendices
- 3Review summary sheets with faculty and plan responses or resubmissions as needed
- 4Finalize awarded budgets and coordinate with Grants and Contracts and Research Accounting for setup
- 5Monitor grant spending, review budget adjustments, and ensure appropriate allocation of funds
- 6Compile fiscal data and generate spreadsheets to track grant balances and expenses
- 7Process purchase requests via Purchase Orders and PCard, verifying fund availability and allowability
- 8Conduct financial analysis for onboarding, manage salary allocations, and process terminations
- 9Partner with faculty and OGC on MTA, DUA, and consulting agreements
- 10Manage federal time and effort reporting for applicable researchers
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 20-1 year of related experience in research administration
- 3Familiarity with Excel and Google Sheets
- 4Experience with budgeting principles and financial projections
- 5Ability to analyze grant data and apply regulations
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 7Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- 8Knowledge of electronic document and email file storage
- 9Familiarity with prioritizing and balancing workload
