Renegade Mechanic I, Golf Course Equipment & Maintenance
Overview
Own preventative maintenance and repair of course equipment at a premier private club. You will service mowers, utility vehicles, trucks, and tractors to keep daily operations on the golf course running smoothly. Work with the superintendents and a fellow mechanic to plan repairs and maintenance, ensuring equipment availability for daily play. What You'll Do10
- 1Diagnose and repair engine, hydraulic, electrical, braking, and cooling systems to ensure reliable equipment operation on the course
- 2Tune engines, adjust carburetors, repair tires, and service cutting units for optimal reel to bed knife alignment and height of cut
- 3Perform welding, machining, bodywork, and painting as needed to restore equipment
- 4Inspect and maintain safety switches and system components, including fuel, steering, and transmission
- 5Install batteries, tires, lights, and glass and perform periodic preventive maintenance
- 6Coordinate with the Golf Course Superintendent and Mechanic III to schedule repairs and maintenance
- 7Operate within outdoor environment and adapt to extreme temperatures and weather as required
- 8Ensure equipment is safe for use and complies with club safety standards
- 9Document maintenance and repairs for continuity of service and future planning
- 10Assist with general shop duties and support other maintenance tasks as assigned
Requirements5
- 1At least 3 years of experience as head golf course mechanic, assistant golf course mechanic, or related mechanical experience
- 2Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools
- 3Experience repairing and maintaining mowers and cutting units
- 4Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair engine, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems
- 5Ability to operate a motor vehicle and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

$44 - $48k per year
