What You'll Do11
- 1Conduct annual and periodic testing of fire alarm systems per applicable code and jurisdiction requirements
- 2Verify system functionality and document results according to standards and project specifications
- 3Submit test outcomes using the LAFD-approved Compliance Engine within mandated timelines
- 4Maintain comprehensive records of inspections deficiencies and corrective actions
- 5Coordinate with property managers contractors and LAFD representatives to schedule repairs
- 6Perform retesting after corrections within required timeframes typically thirty days
- 7Stay current with updates to Chief’s Regulation No. 4 NFPA standards and local fire codes
- 8Utilize specialized testing tools and inspection equipment for accurate assessments
- 9Write detailed inspection reports documenting deficiencies clearly and professionally
- 10Attend mandatory renewals and field observations for all relevant certifications
- 11Drive systematic approaches to improve testing efficiency and compliance outcomes
Requirements11
- 1Current Regulation 4 certification active status
- 2Minimum five years experience with fire alarm testing and inspection practices
- 3Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- 4High school diploma or equivalent recognized credential
- 5Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting fifty pounds and operating hand tools
- 6Proficiency with mobile devices and digital reporting platforms
