Fire Alarm Service Technician | Siemens, NICET | Redwood City
Overview
You will own service and troubleshooting for fire alarm and life safety systems across commercial and multi-family buildings in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role covers NICET Level II+ work with Siemens, Potter, and Kidde systems, backed by an authorized dealer network. You will handle ITM inspections, emergency on-call rotation, and occasional installation. The team pays top rates for top techs and funds your climb to NICET Level III and IV.
What You'll Do8
- 1Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems in commercial and multi-family buildings using Siemens, Potter, and Kidde platforms.
- 2Perform and document routine fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA 72 standards.
- 3Serve as the primary client contact on service calls, explaining findings and recommendations clearly.
- 4Maintain accurate records of work performed, including tests, repairs, and code compliance notes.
- 5Step into installation projects when scheduling demands, applying the same precision.
- 6Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation to respond to life safety system failures.
- 7Complete all service tickets within the first 90 days with zero rework or customer callbacks.
- 8Collaborate with the team to share troubleshooting insights and improve service efficiency.
Requirements8
- 1FAS-NICET Level II or higher certification, with company-funded path to Level III and IV.
- 25+ years of hands-on fire alarm or life safety service experience.
- 3Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and current California Fire/Life Safety Technician certification (blue card).
- 4Strong plus: Siemens certification or direct experience with Kidde and Potter systems.
- 5Clean driver's license and ability to participate in on-call rotation.
- 6Live within approximately 50 miles of Redwood City for rapid response.
- 7Demonstrated reliability: punctual, self-motivated, and coachable with a positive attitude.
- 8Proven problem-solving skills on complex troubleshooting calls, as shared in the application video.
