What You'll Do8
- 1Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for Emergency Room patients, prioritizing based on acuity and managing multiple critical cases simultaneously.
- 2Administer medications and treatments per Texas Board of Nursing scope, including BLS protocols, and document in EPIC.
- 3Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care, from admission through discharge, across a 946-bed facility.
- 4Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, care plans, and preventive health measures.
- 5Delegate tasks to LVNs and CNAs, ensuring safe and efficient patient flow.
- 6Respond to trauma alerts and code blue situations, leading nursing interventions.
- 7Participate in unit-based quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- 8Mentor new nurses and precept nursing students during clinical rotations.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
- 21+ years of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in emergency nursing.
- 3Active Texas RN license or temporary permit; permanent license within 90 days; Compact license accepted per Board of Nursing.
- 4Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- 5Additional certifications as defined by unit, e.g., TNCC or ENPC preferred.
- 6Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in high-pressure situations.
