Overview
Deliver dialysis care and medical nursing to renal and non-renal patients at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. You will own peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis treatment, monitoring patients for complications and adjusting care as needed. Work on the night shift with a full-time schedule, supported by a multidisciplinary team in a dedicated renal unit. - 1Perform peritoneal dialysis treatments, monitoring patients for complications and adjusting as needed.
- 2Manage hemodialysis care, ensuring correct delivery of treatment and close patient monitoring.
- 3Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures and signs requiring medical attention.
- 4Provide nursing care to renal and non-renal patients using clinical assessment skills.
- 5Document patient responses and care plans in the electronic health record.
- 6Coordinate with the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans based on patient status.
- 7Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered by physicians.
- 8Respond to dialysis-related emergencies with rapid assessment and intervention.
Requirements7
- 1BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
- 2Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state license.
- 3Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure.
- 41+ years of nursing experience in renal or acute care preferred.
- 5Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- 6Ability to work night shifts and weekends as scheduled.
- 7Excellent communication skills for patient and family education.
