Recovery Coach, Telehealth & Opioid Use Disorder
Overview
As a Recovery Coach at Bicycle Health, you'll own peer-based recovery support for patients with opioid use disorder, serving as a vital link between clients and the care team in a telehealth environment. You'll meet with clients regularly, document visits in the EHR, and review recovery goals, all while supporting engagement and motivation across multiple frameworks of care. Working remotely on a set schedule, you'll collaborate with medical providers and behavioral health staff to deliver holistic, evidence-based treatment. This role stands out because you'll apply Motivational Interviewing consistently and help shape quality improvement metrics, making a direct impact on expanding access to effective OUD care.
What You'll Do8
- 1Serve as the primary contact point between clients and the Bicycle Health program, ensuring consistent engagement.
- 2Deliver one-on-one coaching and facilitate peer support groups using Motivational Interviewing techniques.
- 3Document client visits in the EHR in real time, maintaining quality suitable for medical providers.
- 4Track client progress using patient management tools, keeping patients engaged between medical visits and documenting their participation in treatment and support services.
- 5Engage clients in conversation and education about substance use, treatment, and recovery, providing resources for their goals.
- 6Identify barriers to full participation in the program and communicate them to the clinical team for effective resolution.
- 7Maintain close, efficient communication with medical providers and support staff on assigned clients' care.
- 8Attend and contribute to team meetings, supporting quality improvement metrics and program initiatives.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of experience as a peer recovery coach, peer support worker, or addiction counselor.
- 22+ years of experience in a medical practice or behavioral health field, including EHR documentation and close communication with providers.
- 3Personal experience with substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery, either through direct involvement or close personal/professional relationships, with the ability to relate empathetically.
- 4Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- 5Cultural awareness and responsiveness, recognizing and respecting diverse client backgrounds and needs.
- 6Understanding of confidentiality requirements for handling client information.
- 7Ability to practice self-care to maintain emotional well-being while supporting individuals with complex needs.
- 8Demonstrated ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team focused on company-level goals.
- 9Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
