Quality Control Lead Structural Steel Fabrication
Overview
EZARC seeks a Quality Control Lead to oversee quality assurance in structural steel fabrication. This role involves inspecting components meeting contract specs and codes. The lead will drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 and AISC standards. Success requires technical expertise and leadership.
What You'll Do13
- 1Perform visual inspections of fabricated components and welds to verify compliance with contract documents and EZARC standards
- 2Conduct 100% weld inspections and verify production fit-up prior to welding
- 3Inspect incoming materials and welding consumables for quality standards
- 4Verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring equipment
- 5Read and interpret blueprints shop drawings and weld symbols
- 6Document inspection results in Quality Control reports and logs
- 7Monitor compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications and fabrication standards
- 8Identify quality issues and communicate them to supervisors and production staff
- 9Lead the Quality Control inspection team during staffing shortages
- 10Serve as primary technical resource for welders and production personnel
- 11Facilitate weld tests and coordinate non-destructive testing
- 12Train and mentor inspectors welders and fitters on quality standards
- 13Promote continuous improvement through coaching and process reviews
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 5 years of structural steel fabrication experience
- 2Minimum 2 years of welding inspection experience
- 3Knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and AISC standards
- 4Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and blueprints
- 5Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges
