Overview
Lead plant level procurement operations and strengthen the supply chain for a manufacturing organization in Poway California onsite You will own purchasing strategy supplier performance and process improvements at scale You will mentor a team and collaborate with Planning Production Engineering Quality Finance and other stakeholders to prevent shortages and optimize costs This role offers strategic influence with hands on leadership setting the direction for continuous improvement
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead the Purchasing Team to recruit mentor and develop Buyers supporting plant production
- 2Oversee activities from MRP requirements through PO execution and delivery with KPI oversight
- 3Establish monitor and improve supplier delivery accuracy cycle times and team performance
- 4Protect supply and production by escalating shortages and developing proactive mitigation strategies
- 5Drive strategic sourcing supplier performance including negotiations pricing terms and service levels
- 6Build dual and multi sourcing strategies to reduce supply chain risk and improve continuity
- 7Standardize purchasing workflows controls and ERP data integrity
- 8Identify opportunities to automate procurements and leverage data analytics for better decisions
- 9Support procurement digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements10
- 15–7 years of progressive procurement experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- 23+ years of leadership experience in purchasing procurement or supply chain
- 3Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management Business Logistics or related field or equivalent professional experience
- 4Strong working knowledge of MRP/MPS and material planning in manufacturing
- 5Advanced experience with ERP systems such as SAP Oracle or comparable platforms
- 6Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- 7Demonstrated success negotiating with suppliers and driving cost improvements
- 8Experience managing supplier performance shortages allocations and supply chain risk
- 9Knowledge of inventory strategies including safety stock ABC/XYZ segmentation and reorder points
- 10Experience with dual/multi sourcing and supplier qualification strategies
Salary Insight
$130 - $140k per year
