Overview
Psychology Program Manager leads the national rollout of the VA Social Skills Training (VA SST) program, impacting Veterans across all VISNs. The role oversees a team of national and regional trainers, manages budgets, and drives program evaluation. This position sits within the MIRECC at the VA Maryland Health Care System, collaborating with the Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD) and OMH. The manager shapes the future of evidence-based psychosocial rehabilitation for 3-5 seasons, ensuring high-quality care for Veterans.
What You'll Do9
- 1Coordinate and implement the national VA SST training program across all VISNs, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- 2Oversee the training and development of regional and national VA SST trainers, guiding their delivery of competency-based instruction.
- 3Manage program budgets and resources, allocating funds for VA SST operations and training materials.
- 4Develop and run a data-driven quality assurance system, measuring program outcomes against goals for VA SST.
- 5Build training modules and resources to support VA SST rollout, aligning with clinical evidence and VHA guidelines.
- 6Prepare issue briefs and communicate program accomplishments to local and national VA leadership.
- 7Provide expert consultation to mental health professionals and stakeholders on VA SST technical assistance.
- 8Collaborate with ILEAD, VISNs, and OMH to identify training needs and deliver educational programs.
- 9Participate in national workgroups to advance evidence-based clinician training initiatives.
Requirements8
- 1Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program, with a specialty matching the assignment.
- 2Full license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state or territory.
- 33+ years experience as a professional psychologist, with 1+ year at the GS-13 level or equivalent.
- 4Experience overseeing a national rollout of VA Social Skills Training or equivalent large-scale program.
- 5Certification in CPC Card or similar competency-based training evaluation (preferred).
- 6Proven ability to organize work, set priorities, and delegate tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
- 7Skilled in using evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines to guide staff.
- 8Ability to analyze operational problems and implement solutions for sound program management.
