Project Manager, Dry Utility Construction
Overview
Own and deliver underground utilities projects from pre-construction through closeout and ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes. Hands-on experience with dry utility installations, underground utilities, site management, and stakeholder communication are essential. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage safety and quality plans, and coordinate with engineers, designers and municipalities to secure approvals and maintain progress.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build project delivery plans for dry utility and underground construction including planning, scheduling and budgeting
- 2Manage subcontractors, vendors and on-site crews; negotiate contracts and change orders
- 3Coordinate permitting, utility locates, traffic control and third-party inspections to maintain compliance and progress
- 4Develop and maintain schedules, cost forecasts and progress reports; mitigate risks and delays
- 5Ensure adherence to safety, environmental and quality standards and lead incident investigations when necessary
- 6Work with engineers and surveyors to resolve design and constructability issues and incorporate field changes
- 7Communicate updates to clients and stakeholders and secure approvals for milestones
- 8Oversee materials procurement and logistics for timely installation of telecom, fiber, conduit and other utilities
- 9Utilize project management tools to track progress and document project records
- 10Support project closeout activities with documentation and lessons learned
Requirements8
- 15+ years of project management experience in construction with dry utility and underground projects
- 2Experience managing schedules, budgets, contracts and subcontractors
- 3Familiarity with underground construction techniques including trenching, conduit, ductbank and vaults
- 4Knowledge of permitting processes, utility locating and traffic control planning
- 5Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera and basic CAD/GIS familiarity
- 6Certifications such as PMP, CCM or OSHA 30 are a plus
- 7Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ without sponsorship
- 8Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Salary Insight
$130 - $160k per year
