Project Manager - Custom Architectural Millwork
Overview
You will own high-end custom architectural millwork projects from award to final installation, ensuring design intent, budgets, and schedules align. 5+ years of experience in custom millwork or specialty fabrication is required. You coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Installation teams in a luxury hospitality and commercial environment. This role demands precision craftsmanship and clear communication with clients, designers, and general contractors. What You'll Do9
- 1Serve as the primary client, designer, contractor, and ownership contact for assigned millwork projects, driving alignment on design intent, budgets, and schedules.
- 2Lead projects from handoff through completion, overseeing field verification, dimensional control, and shop drawing development with AutoCAD and Revit.
- 3Manage project budgets, track costs, and mitigate risks early to maintain profitability and quality standards.
- 4Build and track detailed project schedules covering engineering, procurement, production, and installation milestones.
- 5Coordinate with engineering to translate complex design concepts into buildable shop drawings, managing submittals, RFIs, and approvals.
- 6Monitor production to ensure adherence to material, finish, and design specifications, ensuring compliance with AWI standards.
- 7Direct installation scheduling and site logistics, conducting site visits to verify quality and resolve issues.
- 8Manage RFIs, change orders, and scope adjustments with clear documentation of cost and schedule impact.
- 9Deliver complete close-out packages and lead punch list completion to client satisfaction.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of project management experience in custom architectural millwork, high-end casegoods, or specialty fabrication.
- 2Strong working knowledge of AWI standards, construction documentation, and shop drawing processes.
- 3Proven ability to manage complex, detail-driven projects in hospitality, multifamily, or commercial environments.
- 4High attention to detail with understanding of materials, finishes, and fabrication methods.
- 5Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- 6Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management or ERP systems like Procore or Sage is a plus.
- 7Self-driven with strong problem-solving capabilities and accountability.
- 8Willingness to travel between office, factory, and job sites, with flexible hours as required.
