Principal Software Technical Lead, Java & DoD Surveillance Systems
Overview
Own the technical leadership of a software team delivering an integrated aerial surveillance system for a DoD customer. Scale across real-time sensor integration, external hardware interfaces, and distributed software applications. You will guide architecture, design, and execution while coordinating with systems engineering, QA, cybersecurity, and product stakeholders. This role offers high-impact mission-critical capabilities and a path to influence cross-functional development practices.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead software architecture, technical design, and implementation for integrated surveillance and sensor systems
- 2Serve as technical lead for real-time surveillance and distributed software applications
- 3Mentor software engineers across the full software development lifecycle
- 4Decompose requirements into executable software tasks and technical solutions
- 5Coordinate with systems engineering, QA, network engineering, cybersecurity, and integration teams to support capabilities
- 6Evaluate and integrate new technologies and frameworks into existing baselines
- 7Support customer demonstrations deployments and test activities
- 8Develop and maintain technical documentation for designs interfaces testing and operation
- 9Collaborate with Product Owners and Program Management to prioritize and manage backlogs
- 10Monitor delivery against program objectives and communicate risks and mitigation plans
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering or equivalent
- 2Minimum of 9 years of professional software development experience
- 3Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
- 4Java programming experience
- 5Working knowledge of the full software development lifecycle
- 6Experience with distributed publish subscribe software architectures
- 7Experience with Linux operating systems
- 8Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
- 9Ability to work with cross functional engineering teams and customer stakeholders
Salary Insight
$120 - $222k per year
