Overview
Lead the design and implementation of a data architecture for a casino management system using Iceberg Data Lakehouse architecture. Develop a React.js/Node.js Reporting & Analytics Portal and build RESTful APIs with Node.js. Integrate diverse data sources via Kafka and Starburst query federation. Establish data governance using Starburst and maintain PostgreSQL schemas. Mentor teams and drive high-quality data solutions.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead the design and development of a robust Iceberg Data Lakehouse architecture using Apache Iceberg Starburst Trino and Lakekeeper ensuring scalability and security
- 2Architect and maintain complex data pipelines with Python and Apache Kafka for ingestion transformation and storage into Iceberg tables
- 3Design and develop features for the React.js/Node.js Reporting & Analytics Portal including interactive dashboards and scheduled data exports
- 4Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js serving data in JSON and CSV formats for regulatory reporting
- 5Oversee integration of transactional systems third party APIs and IoT devices through Kafka event streaming and Starburst query federation
- 6Define and implement Lambda Kappa hybrid architecture supporting batch and real time analytics
- 7Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas and queries for application state metadata and portal functionality
- 8Establish data governance policies using Starburst to ensure compliance security and privacy
- 9Collaborate with data analysts data scientists and stakeholders to deliver high quality solutions such as embedded Metabase dashboards
- 10Monitor and optimize pipeline performance with Prometheus and Grafana identifying bottlenecks and implementing enhancements
- 11Provide technical leadership and mentorship fostering innovation and best practices across data engineering and front end development
Requirements15
- 1At least 21 years of age proof of US work authorization bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science Data Engineering or related field
- 28+ years data engineering experience with 3+ years in principal or lead roles preferably in gaming or casino industry
- 3Expertise with Apache Kafka for real time event streaming and large scale pipeline orchestration
- 4Hands on experience with Apache Iceberg table formats partitioning schema evolution and snapshot management
- 5Proficiency with Starburst Trino or alternative engines like StarRocks Dremio for distributed SQL analytics
- 6Experience building React.js front end dashboards and Node.js RESTful APIs
- 7Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL 16+ including optimization indexing and schema design for analytical workloads
- 8Familiarity with Iceberg catalog management Lakekeeper and object storage solutions such as AWS S3 MinIO
- 9Experience deploying data services on Kubernetes using Docker containers
- 10Strong Python skills 3.11+ with PyIceberg PyArrow and Pydantic for pipelines and processing workflows
- 11Knowledge of data modeling techniques star schema snowflake schema and advanced analytics design
- 12Demonstrated experience with data quality frameworks and tools for integrity and compliance
- 13Strong CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions for automation
- 14Experience monitoring with Prometheus Grafana for pipeline and application health
- 15Ability to lead and mentor technical teams fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
