Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Overview
You will assist in guiding a classroom of 4-year-olds at Kiddie Academy of Grand Harbor in Katy, TX, co-leading daily activities and maintaining a safe, engaging space. You'll work alongside a lead teacher and support staff, with a stable Monday-Friday schedule from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM and no nights or weekends. This role offers professional development assistance and a collaborative environment where your patience and nurturing approach directly impact early childhood growth.
What You'll Do6
- 1Co-lead a Pre-Kindergarten classroom of 4-year-olds, implementing lesson plans and instructional activities that foster social and academic development.
- 2Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment, ensuring compliance with Texas state licensing regulations.
- 3Support children individually and in groups, guiding them through social and classroom adjustments with patience and consistency.
- 4Communicate daily with parents through notes and developmental profiles, and participate in parent-teacher conferences to share progress.
- 5Assist the lead teacher in directing assistant teachers and managing classroom routines to ensure an orderly, nurturing atmosphere.
- 6Track attendance, document accidents, and complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
Requirements6
- 11+ years teaching 4-year-olds in a licensed, accredited early childhood facility or daycare center
- 2Full compliance with Texas state licensing requirements for early childhood educators
- 3CPR and First Aid Certification (Required)
- 4Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds throughout the workday
- 5Pleasant, warm, professional demeanor with high dependability
- 6Availability to work Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM
