Powder Coating Painter Job in Salt Lake City | Ascend Staffing
Overview
You will own the powder coating process for metal parts in a high-volume production shop. You will prep, coat, and finish components using powder coating tools and support welders and machine operators. This role reports to the production lead and works a steady day shift with weekends off. What You'll Do9
- 1Prep metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking parts before coating
- 2Operate powder coating guns and ovens to apply durable finishes
- 3Read blueprints to determine coating specs and part orientation
- 4Load and unload parts from racks and conveyor systems
- 5Assist welders and machine operators with production tasks as needed
- 6Perform basic grinding and sanding to smooth surfaces before coating
- 7Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols
- 8Inspect finished parts for defects and re-coat or touch up as required
- 9Restock powder and supplies to keep production moving
Requirements9
- 11+ years of industrial painting or powder coating experience
- 2Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for full shifts
- 3Comfortable using hand and power tools such as grinders and sanders
- 4Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- 5Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- 6High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- 7Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of shop safety
- 8Punctual and dependable with a teamwork attitude
- 9Authorized to work in the US
